Hello! Welcome to Emovere LLC, a healing space to ease the mind, body and spirit. Our hope is to provide our clients with an integrated state of wellbeing and wholeness. Emovere is dedicated to providing you with a holistic approach connecting the mind and the body  through the use of creativity, expression and movement.Emovere is an inclusive practice. Every human being is an emotional being. It is in our nature to express and to reach for growth and change in our lives. Our emotional world guides all of our actions, decisions and behaviors. Our experiences in life shape how view ourselves and the world around us. When something traumatic is experienced you may feel like your whole world has changed. Nothing in life may make sense as your authentic sense of self  and your sense of belonging in the world changes. Traumatic experiences often lead to increased anxiety, memory loss, eating problems, and depression. It is not uncommon that individuals feel hopeless and a sense of fear and shame after a traumatic event. Emovere is here to support you through your healing process as we believe that all emotions and all experiences deserve a validating and safe space to land.

We strive to bring you through the process of healing effortlessly with gentle guidance and support. We commit ourselves to continually working towards the goals of restoring harmony to the mind and body to reinvigorate the spirit. Together, we will move beyond symptom management to exploring and  understanding the deeper meaning in your life.

How We Help

At Emovere, we integrate verbal psychotherapies in a unique and creative manner, with the inclusion of methods such as dance/movement therapy, mindfulness, writing, and art. We believe that somatic awareness combined with self-expression play a significant role in our well-being, and also allow unexpressed emotions to become unstuck. Our psychotherapy approach comes in different forms; ranging from behavioral therapy to cognitive therapy, interpersonal therapy, to family therapy, to group therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy sessions enable our clients to  heal in connection to trusted nonjudgmental support. Psychotherapy seeks to foster an authentic understanding of yourself, your goals and values and lead to developing skills for improving relationships. Psychotherapy helps our clients to overcome specific problems such as eating disorders, trauma and anxiety. However, for our psychotherapy approach to work, we ensure that our clients must be actively engaged and open to the healing process during the session as well as between sessions.

Somatic Experiencing: Somatic experiencing is a gentle body-centered approach that addresses physiological deregulation resulting from trauma. Somatic psychotherapy sessions are utilized to reconnect you to your body and the felt sense of support that resides within. Using the body as a resource can free up space inside and open new possibilities to face fear and become more engaged with life. Somatic psychotherapy promotes a reduction of the felt sense of distress in the body and creates a new found appreciation of our bodies natural ability to heal and discharge stress.

Dance/Movement Therapy: a psychotherapeutic use of movement to further cognitive, emotional and social well-being. Our somatic therapy is a holistic therapy that confirms the deep-rooted connection between the body and mind thus creating an easy approach to healing the physical symptoms that are manifested from post-traumatic experiences which includes digestive issues, pains, hormonal imbalances, immune system dysfunction and sexual dysfunction, depression, medical issues, addiction and anxiety.

Authentic Movement: Authentic Movement is an approach that seeks to integrate mind and body. It involves a process of inner-directed movement and may be used for therapeutic purposes, although it is also employed as a creative or mystical tool. The main form of AM is simple: the person may move with their eyes closed according to their internal impulses and explore these impulses through the imagery and the motion they create. The mover is observed by a witness who focuses their attention on each motion to notice patterns. AM can be used by individuals with trauma to explore their emotions, thoughts, and images by involving the body and moving freely. AM can be used for integrating trauma experiences by going back to that situation and bringing it to the present safely, providing a way of exploring the pain and suffering and reducing it in different ways. It provides a way of connecting with one’s inner self.

Overall, these four approaches may be used to work with trauma. Each offers a unique element, and three out of four strive to bring the body in as an essential element of the process. They provide different approaches to healing that might be used separately or together to help the individual reclaim their independence and empowerment and reduce the negative consequences of trauma they might have.
