What is The Brew Season 1: Truth & Myths?
Burnout is more than just a buzzword, it is a real experience of emotional, mental and spiritual exhaustion brought on by prolonged or repeated stress. While there is a lot of buzz about burnout, the effects aren’t something you can vacation or self-care away. In this support group, we will have honest exploration about the myths and truths of burnout. We will explore social connection and how to heal using a unique online experience that offers more than a traditional video chat. You are not alone!
The Brew is a different kind of online support group for those experiencing burnout. We use Drama Therapy (DvT), and creative arts to help build connection, community, and self-expression with the aim of refilling our cups with the compassion, energy, and creativity. No experience with acting, DvT, therapy, theater, Topia, intensive computer experience, or art needed to participate. All you need is just yourself, your computer or laptop, and an internet connection (see computer/internet requirements below) and your bravery and curiosity.
“I was nervous about the platform and if I would be able to figure it out enough to be present but it turned out that it was easy to use and River & Roxann worked hard to build a world that made the online experience of DvT shimmer with wonder and delight: I highly recommend participating” – past participant
Please be advised that The Brew in Topia can only hold 7 group members and two facilitators at a time- ensuring that everyone can be is visible on screen at the same time.
To successfully run Topia you will need an in internet connection, a computer- not a tablet or phone- a fully functional webcam and preferably a headset with a working microphone.
